Students are instructed on methods they can use to disentangle victims from a variety of situations. Evolutions progress in complexity to include auger entrapments, impalements, persons trapped under vehicles, torch operations, as well as other “tips & tricks” learned from real-world experiences. The Classroom and Practical Skills portion of the program focus on finding the least complicated method of performing such rescues rather than "overthinking" the given situation and will progress from scene size up to treatment and transport of patients.
ITLS Provider includes 8 hours of classroom instruction, 8 hours of hands-on skills training, and testing for ITLS Basic or Advanced certification. Innovative skills stations let you practice the abilities appropriate for your level of certification. With its comprehensive approach to core knowledge and skills, ITLS Provider is appropriate for all levels of EMS personnel—from EMT-Bs and first responders to advanced EMTs, paramedics, trauma nurses, and physicians.
